OUR MISSION
Temple Beth David is built upon three cornerstones:
WE ARE A SACRED COMMUNITY
בְּצֶלֶם אֱלהִים בָּרָה אתוֹ
B’Tzelem Elohim bara oto. God created human beings in the Divine image. (Genesis 1:27)
Temple Beth David is a sacred Jewish community of members and families. We are committed to welcoming and respecting everyone who wishes to join us in our liberal and warm congregation. We are dedicated to to the task of “Tikkun Olam,” “Repairing the World,” and reaching out to all those in need.
THIS IS OUR SPIRITUAL HOME
וְעָשׂוּ לִי מִקְדָּשׁ, וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹכָם
V’asu lee mikdash, v’shachantee b’tocham. And let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them.(Exodus 25:8)
We gather in our Sanctuary for worship on Jewish holidays & Shabbat. We celebrate life’s joyous moments and life’s most challenging days together as we strive to open our hearts to the Divine in us and the Divine in our world.
WE ARE A PLACE OF LEARNING
וְתַלְמוּד תּוֹרָה כְּנֶגֱד כֻּלָּם
Talmud Torah K’neged Kulam. And the study of Torah is equal to them all.(Talmud)
At Temple Beth David, we value learning at every level. From the youngest children in our Religious School, to adults and families, we offer classes, programs and activities throughout the year.
We affirm that everyone is a stakeholder and community matters.
We nourish our deep roots. We grow. We believe in the possible.
We value diversity. We are young and young at heart.
